Cord Lamp looks like a haunted lamp by a snake charmer, those who make a cobra emerge from a basket with the sound of its flute, only in this case what is achieved is a minimalist lamp that stands up apparently only with the cable that feeds it.
The thing, obviously, has a trick, and that is that the cable becomes rigid at the base, creating a shape that gives stability to the structure and then vertically erect and thus convert what would be a simple bulb at the end of a cable in a nice floor or table lamp.
This curious and elegant design is a matter of Petrus Palmér and John Löfgren for the firm Design House Stockholm, which describe its creation as follows:
If you want, you can let it irritate you, break your neck tripping over it, or you can even give up and hide the cable behind the socket or in a slot, but the smartest thing is to join the enemy. Cord lampo turns the bland flexo and the conventional floor lamp into something that attracts attention, so it is not worth it to face it.
Personally, Cord Lamp seems to me to be a real beauty, both for its simplicity and for the challenge of its seemingly unstable equilibrium, as if it were a haunted lamp.
